The Problem

The Open Ocean Is a Battlefield.

Threat 01 / Piracy Reconnaissance

UAV Surveillance Before Close Approach

Commercial vessels now face a layered security environment. IMO recorded 171 piracy and armed-robbery incidents in 2025, while unidentified UAVs add a stand-off surveillance threat that can expose vessel movements, deck activity and security posture before close approach.

Threat 02 / Kamikaze UAVs & USVs

Explosive Drone & Surface Attacks

IMO verified 58 conflict-related Red Sea shipping incidents through 2025. Merchant vessels have faced attacks involving unmanned aerial and surface systems alongside missiles, making early UAV detection critical before a hostile system reaches the ship’s immediate security perimeter.

Threat 03 / Chokepoint Ambush

Multi-Vector Drone & Missle Threat

IMO confirmed 62 Middle East shipping incidents by 27 July 2026. With commercial vessels exposed to missiles, UAVs and unmanned surface threats, early detection gives crews more time to assess, alert and activate established onboard security procedures.

Threat 04 / Drone & Missile Attacks

UAV, USV & Guided-Missile Exprosure

More than 100 UxS and GNSS-guided missile attacks have been recorded since 2023, confirming the growing use of unmanned and precision-guided systems in maritime conflict zones. Counter-UAS capability provides an additional early-warning layer against emerging aerial threats.

62

By 27 July 2026, the International Maritime Organization had confirmed 62 incidents affecting shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and wider Middle East, with 17 confirmed seafarer fatalities. This escalation demonstrates how the modern threat to merchant shipping extends beyond conventional piracy and boarding. Alongside missiles and surface attacks, the IMO explicitly recognizes UAVs as an emerging maritime-security threat, making aerial situational awareness an increasingly important component of layered vessel protection.

The Solution

Detect the Threat Before the Threat Detects You.

Our commercial maritime counter-drone system is the first line of defence specifically engineered for working vessels — container ships, tankers, bulk carriers, LNG carriers and offshore supply vessels. It detects reconnaissance drones before the operator can profile your vessel, and neutralizes armed UAVs before they reach engagement range.

The system operates fully autonomously with no dedicated operator required, integrates directly into your bridge management system, and maintains 360° coverage regardless of sea state or weather conditions.

IP67-rated maritime hardware — certified for offshore environments, salt spray and heavy weather
RF passive detection to 3.2Νm — identifies drone model, operator location and flight path silently
Bridge integration — real-time alerts delivered directly to officer of the watch via NMEA-compatible display
Soft-kill neutralization — disrupts GPS and control links, forcing return-to-home with no physical debris
Evidence logging — full GPS track, bearing, timestamp and drone ID recorded for P&I Club and flag state reporting
Works in all jurisdictions — detection operates globally with no regulatory limitations

Technology

Two-Layer Commercial Vessel Defence.

Layer 01 · Detect

PAGIS-II Maritime Detection

Passive RF array engineered for offshore deployment. Detects any drone or USV control signal within a 3.2Νm radius. Silently identifies operator position, flight path, altitude and drone model — zero RF emissions, completely invisible to any counter-surveillance. Outputs NMEA data stream for bridge display integration.

Layer 02 · Neutralize

TALOS-III Maritime Jammer

Precision soft-kill system disrupts drone GPS guidance and radio control links, forcing return-to-home or controlled hover. No physical destruction, no debris in international waters, no noise signature. Compact mast-mounting design certified for commercial vessel superstructure installation with 12V/24V/220V power compatibility.

Real-World Use Cases

Built for Every Threat Scenario at Sea.

Scenario · High-Risk Corridor Transit

Red Sea & Gulf of Aden Passage

With 178 vessels attacked and four ships sunk since 2023, the Red Sea remains the world’s most dangerous commercial shipping corridor. Houthi forces use drone swarms for targeting coordination before launching anti-ship missiles and kamikaze surface vessels — the drone is always the first move.

System detects aerial drone at 3.2Νm and operator vessel at surface. OOW alerted with full geolocation data. Evasive action and coalition notification initiated before engagement range is reached.

Scenario · Strait Transit

Singapore Strait & Malacca Passage

The Singapore Strait recorded 43 piracy incidents in 2024 — a 93% boarding success rate. At slow-steaming speed through a narrow passage, a vessel has virtually no evasive option. Pirate skiffs use drone overflights hours earlier to select targets, confirm crew counts and identify the optimal boarding approach vector.
Drone profiling flight detected and operator position fixed. Master and CSO notified. Incident logged for IMB ReCAAP reporting with full evidence package.
Scenario · Anchorage & Port Approach

Outer Anchorage & Waiting Areas

Vessels at anchor outside congested ports are stationary for hours or days — an ideal target for reconnaissance. West African waters, the Gulf of Guinea and Bangladeshi anchorages have seen repeated incidents where drone overflights preceded nighttime boarding attacks on vessels waiting for a berth.
Passive RF monitoring active 24/7 at anchor. Any drone approach triggers immediate alert to officer of the watch and private security team. Full evidence log generated for P&I Club notification.
Scenario · Offshore & Remote Operations

Offshore Platforms & Supply Vessels

Offshore supply vessels, FPSO units and drilling platforms operate in locations where naval response is measured in days, not hours. Their fixed GPS positions, predictable crew schedules and high-value cargo make them primary targets for intelligence-led attacks where drones provide the advance reconnaissance.
Fully autonomous operation — no dedicated security operator required. System monitors, alerts and acts independently. All incidents logged with IMO vessel identifier for flag state reporting.

FAQ

Your Questions, Answered.

Does detection-only operation comply with all flag state regulations?
Yes. Our passive RF detection system emits no signals of any kind and is fully compliant with all international maritime regulations in every jurisdiction. Detection capability operates globally without restriction. For the neutralization layer, we brief each client on the applicable regulations for their flag state and the waters they transit. As a minimum in any jurisdiction, the detailed evidence package our system generates — including drone model, GPS track, operator vessel position and timestamps — is recognized by the International Maritime Bureau and is admissible for formal piracy incident reporting.
How is the system installed on a commercial vessel in service?
Our commercial maritime system is designed for minimal drydock or out-of-service time. The sensor array mounts to existing mast or superstructure using marine-grade hardware, with cabling routed to a bridge-mounted control unit that interfaces with your existing NMEA network. Full installation by our certified engineers typically takes one port call of 6–12 hours depending on vessel class. For urgent operational requirements, a portable configuration can be deployed and fully operational within 4 hours of boarding.
Can the system integrate with our existing bridge and VMS equipment?
Yes. The PAGIS-II sensor outputs an NMEA 0183 / NMEA 2000 compatible data stream, allowing drone threat data to be overlaid on existing ECDIS, radar and VMS displays without additional hardware. Alert integration with GMDSS, satcom and private security communication systems is also available. For fleet operators, a centralised shore-based dashboard provides real-time visibility across all equipped vessels, with automatic incident log aggregation for fleet security managers and P&I correspondents.
How does this complement our existing armed security team or PCASP?
Our system acts as the sensor layer that gives your PCASP team a decisive early-warning advantage. Armed guards cannot identify a threat they cannot see — a drone at 4.000m in darkness is invisible to the human eye but fully visible to our RF sensor. By providing operator position, drone model, bearing and approach vector in real time, we extend your security perimeter from the visible horizon to 5 kilometres and give your team verified intelligence rather than uncertainty. Several leading maritime security companies now specify our system as standard equipment for high-risk transits.
